Registering for classes!

I hate how the register for the classes system at SFSU works.  It’s based on the number of units a student has taken, so the more units you have the better your chances are of registering early.  That is with the exceptions of incoming Freshmens, who always have first priority.  That’s not of my concern however, because I am not competing for Freshmen classes as I a Junior, one class or three units short of being a Senior.  Sophomores have the worst slots for registration dates.  Althelets get better priority….tsk tsk! as do international and exchange students.

What makes the system worse is the limited classes (Thanks you Governor Arnold S. for the budget cuts!!!), especially in my major, Design and Industry (1-2 sections per class).  It’ll probably take another year or two for me to graduate…argh!  This semester however, is somewhat of a different story because I was actually able to register for the classes that I needed to be in and wanted to get into.  That has never happened before and so I am quite happy and somewhat satisfied.  I want to take 15 units but I am currently enrolled in 12.  I need one more class, but so far my classes are as follows:

Design and Industry 322 Computer Graphic Imaging

DAI 325 Graphic Design I:  Intro

DAI 327 Digital Media I

Hospitality Management 351 Asian Food and Culture

I am not fully satified because there is a slight problem.  DAI 325 has prereq…and it’s 322.  I never got enrolled in 322 because of the limited sections, 2 to be exact.  Hopefully I can take both concurrently because I don’t want to have to hold off another semester to take the class.

Got kicked out of club!

So I invited a couple of my friends to go to Castro’s hottest club, the Cafe a couple of days ago.  Monday is when the Cafe is packed because of the music they play – Hip-Hop.  We were all happy and drunk and hyphy, but 10 minutes into the club two of my friends gets kicked out!  All of my friends needed to go use the bathroom and to save time and space (it takes forever to do our thing in the bathroom because even though they have two bathrooms, between the two, there’s only 3 stalls and one long urinal…what’s more is that it’s for both girls and boys), my friends decided to all go at once in the stall.  All three of my friends, two guys and and girl, were half way done when all of a sudden one of cops working as security walks in the bathroom and knocks in the door.  My two guy friends get kicked out but not my girl friend.  They called me and met them outside.

After meeting them and somewhat being entertained by the whole fiasco, I told them that I though the whole incident was stupid and them getting kicked out was a complete bull.  The rest of my friends and I were not just going to let them party else where while we partied in CAFE.  We decided to switch up shirts in order to prevent the cops noticing us inside.  It worked!  Until we needed to use the bathroom again.  We decided to use the one just outside of the club.  After taking care of business as we walked up the stairs in the club, the cops spots my friend!  Ahahahah great I thought!  We just kicked it outside because it was almost over anyways.  My friend asked the officer what he did wrong and the response he got was as follows:  “You’ll know when you wake up tomorrow morning.”  And this this day we still don’t know what they did wrong!  ahahah!   Supposedly they banned for good.  I doubt they are tho….Ah but the night didn’t end there…

Slumber party at my friends house and boy do my friends talk all night long and snore like pigs!  ahah I didn’t even get any sleep….until 9PM the next day.

Vegas, Wynn’s Le Reve

Le Reve is a must see show in Vegas! It literally made our trip during Spring Break of ’06. Imagine sychronized swimmers and divers, amazing dance routines, elaborate costumes, acrobats on air, gymist, men in underwear – wet (ahaha) above water and below! Accompanied by world class special effect sound, light, inspired music and a complex story, Le Reve is engaging, intimate, brilliant, effective and mesmerising. The video below doesn’t do the show justice, you MUST experiece it for yourself if ever you get the chance. Unfortunately, the show is going to go through some change in order to attract more people and compete with other shows on the strip such as O (from the same creator of Le Reve, the fantastic and brilliant, yet twisted Dragone – the primary reason for the modification – too similar according to some ppl). My friends and I plan on seeing in again before they change it up early next year.

Stupid woman!

Fri Jul 14, 4:05 PM ETALOHA, Ore. – A woman who called 911 to get “the cutest cop I’ve seen” sent back to her home got a date all right — a court date.

The same sheriff’s deputy arrested her on charges of misuse of the emergency dispatch system.

Washington County Sheriff’s Sgt. David Thompson told KGW-TV of Portland it all started with a noise complaint called in last month by neighbors of Lorna Jeanne Dudash. The deputy sent to check on the complaint knocked on her door, then left.

Thompson said Dudash then called 911, asking that the “cutie pie” deputy return.

“He’s the cutest cop I’ve seen in a long time. I just want to know his name,” Dudash told the dispatcher. “Heck, it doesn’t come very often a good man comes to your doorstep.”

After listening to some more, followed by a bit of silence, the dispatcher asked again why Dudash needed the deputy to return.

“Honey, I’m just going to be honest with you, OK? I just thought he was cute. I’m 45 years old and I’d just like to meet him again, but I don’t know how to go about doing that without calling 911,” she said.

“I know this is absolutely not in any way, shape or form an emergency, but if you would give the officer my phone number and ask him to come back, would you mind?”

The deputy returned, verified that there was no emergency and arrested her for misusing the 911 system, an offense punishable by a fine of up to several thousand dollars and a year in jail.

Thompson said Thursday it was the first case he knew of in which someone called the emergency line for such a personal reason.

“That’s taking up valuable time from dispatchers who could be taking true emergency calls,” he said.

LMAO! As stupid as what this women did and as funny as how she executed trying to get a date with a cute cop, I have to give her props for doing something that I’ve never heard anyone do before! She is hilarious! I wonder just how ‘cute’ this cop is? Ahahaha! At least she was honest and didn’t fake the emergency.

This Day!

Witness and hear a prime example of what makes this women THE VOICE and why she’s been called THE GREATEST!

Suspenders…

I bought a women’s suspenders for myself at Forever 21 (flagship stores such as the huge one in SF Downtown carry men’s clothing). The suspender is too short and pulls my jeans up way to high ahahah, making me look like a nerd with baggy jeans or a clown. Well there goes 7 bucks! I’ll just give it to my sister…she might find some use for it.

SLEEPSALONE!

Yep!

RENT!

So I just got off the phone with a good friend of mine, Wendy, from Oakland. We were discussing the date and time as well as the seating arrangment we wanted for the broadway show RENT! We’re both quite excited and ecstatic! The show is going to be in town for a couple of weeks at the Golden Gate Theater.  I’ve never seen the show in broadway but have heard good things about it. I have seen the movie and along with the soundtrack, I love it! I hope the broadway show doesn’t disappoint. Ah…I doubt I’ll be disappointed.

RENT poster w/ original broadway cast!

I was on the bestofbroadway-sf.com website ordering 7 tickets ($68 bucks a pop with a $9 convience fee for each ticket and a $3.90 processing fee, yikes! yes that’s a total of $542.90!!) through ticketmaster.com. After asking for my billing information as well as my credit card I read one of the paragraphs in the countless disclaimers that the website had. I had to think twice before hitting the submit/accept button when I read that they can’t exchange or refund stolen, lost or damaged tickets! Well that’s just great I thought considering I was going to have the tickets shipped to my house! Then again what are the chances of the tickets getting lost or stolen and me losing $500 bucks just like that! I took the chance anyway and hit the submit button only to find that the website is undergoing a routine maintenance! Hah! Just my luck! I wonder if it’s a sign!? I’ll try again tomorrow or check to see what my other options are for buying the tickets.

Hopefully we can still get the tickets/seats we want tomorrow. But the plan is to see the show with 6 of my other friends on the last showing- Saturday, August 5th @ 8PM.
